Winter Weather Advisory
Issued by the National Weather Service at 9:23 PM CST on January 5, 2009

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 am CST
Tuesday...

A Winter Weather Advisory for primarily freezing rain and sleet remains
in effect until 9 am CST Tuesday.

Freezing rain and sleet are expected to develop during the late
evening and overnight hours across southeast Missouri and southern
Illinois. While precipitation amounts overall are expected to be
light... the temperatures initially will be cold enough that minor
ice accumulations are expected. By mid morning on Tuesday... the
temperatures will begin to rise above freezing as the precipitation
slowly winds down.

A Winter Weather Advisory is issued for a variety of winter
weather conditions... such as snow... blowing snow... sleet... or
freezing drizzle and rain. It only takes a small amount of wintry
precipitation to make roads... bridges... sidewalks... and parking
lots icy and dangerous. It is often difficult to tell when ice
begins to form... so do not be caught off guard.
