Issued by the National Weather Service at 2:24 PM CST on January 5, 2009


... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
9 am CST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory... which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to
9 am CST Tuesday.

A mixture of light sleet... freezing rain and freezing drizzle will
develop this evening across south central Missouri. Periods of
light wintry precipitation will then continue into early Tuesday
morning. Total ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch are
expected... along with up to a tenth of an inch of sleet. Roadways
will likely become slippery starting this evening across south
central Missouri. Temperatures are expected to warm above
freezing by Tuesday afternoon.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
